Customers Overview

The customer accounts section allows you to keep accurate details of all people with whom you do business. This section allows you the choice of adding new customer accounts, editing or accessing old ones for review or action purposes (e.g. holding orders until credit terms are satisfied), and deleting customer accounts.

While it is possible, it is not always necessary to open an account for every customer as nonrecurring or 'once off'. Customers can be invoiced by means of cash sale account if required, but only if no credit terms are included in the sale.

Prerequisites Taking time out to plan your accounting methods properly for customer sales will save you time in the longer term, as you can preplan categories and so on, which will be useful later.

Having all details such as telephone, fax, full address, contact details, tax status for a customer before beginning the recording process will ensure you don't have to keep referring back to these details.

Customer Group classification is another area that will benefit from pre planning, as otherwise the demarcation of groups might be unclear at the time of entering the details, and time may be wasted.
