Synchronizing Legrand Contacts

Synchronizing Legrand Contacts

ABM is integrated with Legrand CRM. In other words, if you are using Legrand CRM you can share its contact records with ABM or share ABM's Contacts with Legrand. The System Administrator needs to select which settings are to be applied to all ABM workstations on the network.

To synchronize your Legrand contacts, select Contacts in the navigation bar, and select Synchronization with Legrand:

Copying from Legrand to ABM.

All contacts are read from the Legrand database. For each one, ABM checks to see if the contact exists in ABM already. It does this by searching for a contact record in ABM where the postcode and the last four digits of the phone number match the Legrand data.

If a matching contact is found in ABM, then it is updated. That is, the data in each field of the Legrand record is copied into the ABM record.

If no matching contact is found in ABM, then a new record is added in ABM using the Legrand data. The contact type is set to 'customer and will need to be changed manually in ABM if this is not the case.

Copying from ABM to Legrand.

All contacts are read from the ABM database. For each one, ABM checks to see if the contact exists in Legrand already. It does this by searching for a matching contact record in Legrand. The first time that the synchronization takes place, the matching is based on the first and second names of the contacts. Therefore, any spelling mistakes will cause the match to fail. In subsequent synchronizations, the match is made on the ABM ContactID which is much more concise.

If a matching contact is found in Legrand, then it is updated. That is, the data in each field of the ABM record is copied into the Legrand record.

If no matching contact is found in Legrand, then a new record is added in Legrand using the ABM data and is assigned the user ID of CRM01.
